Overview

The Team Associated RC8T4 Gearbox Upgrade redefines durability for 1:8 scale truck racing – the toughest segment in R/C. The new 40/9 ring and pinion gears, developed by Area 51, have larger, more robust teeth for maximum engagement and no skipping under extreme load. The updated RC8B4 gearboxes use very stiff polymer for precise bearing and screw mounting, increasing drivetrain reliability and efficiency. This upgrade, proven in competition, brought Spencer Rivkin to victory at the 2024 ROAR Electric Truck Nationals, with unmatched power and performance.

Features

• Innovative front axle geometry, combined with 8° caster steering blocks with new, wider upper arms for a more balanced steering feel and predictable driving behavior under all conditions.
• New front and rear transmission housings increase drivetrain efficiency by reducing phase shift and vibrations. Larger ball bearings extend the lifespan of the ring and pinion gears.
• New front shock tower, designed to fit the revised suspension geometry and suitable for various truggy bodies.
• Ball cups and stabilizer bar connectors made from a new, more durable material.
• New +2 mm and +4 mm longer shock absorber rod ends for more precise adjustment of the up-and-down movement.
• Updated front upper arms with inserts for improved fit and performance.
• Wing mount with plates for angle adjustment, increased stability, aerodynamic design, and more space for precise shock absorber position tuning.
  Wing with vertical fins and a higher lip for more downforce and straight-line stability, with selectively reinforced material thickness to counter flex fatigue.
• New rear chassis brace with a central attachment on the gearbox housing for less material fatigue, centralized shear forces, and longer rear drivetrain life. Three chassis flex settings available
  New side-symmetrical rear hub carriers with axle inserts for roll center adjustment
• Large capacity fuel tank, ergonomic cap, easy-to-read fill level markings, and 1, 2, and 3 cm³ inserts for volume adjustment during official races
• New front and rear gearbox housings with larger ball bearings extend the lifespan of the ring and pinion gears. The front gearbox has a pinion gear with a 3.5° angle for a straight central drive shaft, improving drivetrain efficiency and reducing phase shift and vibrations. The rear gearbox has a 0° pinion angle with a centrally mounted chassis bracket connection
