Vanquish VRD Carbon Kit (Roller)

Overview

The Vanquish Products VRD Carbon Kit is the brand’s first-ever competition platform, developed by some of the most experienced designers in the RC rock crawling scene. The kit includes an all-new Lightweight Spec VFD transmission and updated F10 portal axles inspired by competition use. The chassis consists of 3 mm-thick carbon fiber frame rails with a matte finish, combined with a 6-degree flat skid plate. The lightweight transmission is positioned as low as possible for optimal weight distribution. For the first time, the front axle is equipped with servo-on-axle steering and a 4-link suspension. Both the front and rear axles contain weighted brass tube inserts, while the aluminum front steering knuckles provide additional weight to keep the center of gravity low—for maximum performance on technical terrain.

Chassis

The Vanquish Products VRD Carbon chassis is equipped with brand-new molded chassis components that provide an adjustable platform for the most demanding terrain conditions. Multiple shock and body mounting positions, combined with minimalist interchangeable front and rear bumpers, make assembly and body installation simple. Stamped aluminum rock sliders provide a flat location for mounting electronics and/or batteries while supporting and protecting your body.

Drivetrain

At the heart of the VRD Carbon Kit is the new lightweight VFD transmission. It features a lightweight machined aluminum motor plate and aluminum motor plate spacers, while the cosmetic VFD tunnel has been omitted for a premium appearance. Internally, the VFD is equipped with machined aluminum bearing plates and machined lightweight chromoly gears. Each internal gear has been redesigned to be as light as possible, reducing the overall transmission weight while maintaining durability. The T-Case has built-in 21% overdrive.

The front F10 portal axle has overdrive portal gears, while the rear F10 portal axle uses standard overdrive gears. Combined with the VFD overdrive, the final overdrive percentage is 37%. Both axles feature weighted brass tubes internally, along with aluminum portal knuckle covers on the front axle. This is the heaviest F10 axle yet, while keeping the center of gravity as low as possible and biasing weight toward the front.

Suspension

The VRD Carbon Kit includes Incision S8E shocks with hard-anodized shock bodies and tuning rod ends in various lengths for a final length of 85–95 mm. Heavy-duty stainless steel lower suspension links and lightweight upper links connect the chassis to the axles via the new Incision Pro M4 rod ends. The rear lower links are bent for maximum breakover clearance. Multiple shock mounting points and adjustable shock length provide a wide range of ride-height and breakover adjustments.
