Overview

The Team Associated RC8B4.1 RWB is the refined evolution of the 2022 IFMAR World Champion RC8B4, built for top performance on outdoor tracks. With a stiffer, tapered chassis for improved high-speed stability and a lower center of gravity, it delivers improved handling and balance. New low-center-of-gravity shock towers, shorter shocks, and 3-hole rear springs enable a smoother setup without sacrificing cornering support. Wide rear hubs with carbon-fiber towers provide versatile geometry options, while the universal 92 mm hubs and optimized gearing ensure smooth, consistent power and maximum grip on rough terrain.

Features

  • New RC8B4.1 RWB chassis and side guards with a tapered chassis design for greater rigidity and predictability
  • New low-center-of-gravity, lightweight aluminum front and rear shock towers
  • New shorter 16 mm front and rear shock bodies for a lower center of gravity and reduced weight
  • New 6-hole 1.4 mm front and 1.5 mm tapered rear shock pistons, including emulsion shock cap seals
  • New 3-hole rear suspension arms with updated sway bar geometry for both smooth and bumpy tracks
  • New durable rear hub design with a wide footprint and adjustable 3 mm carbon-fiber hub towers
  • New blue aluminum upper arm mount for added durability
  • New molded RC8B4.1 front bumper with an optimized profile for bumpy transitions
  • New 47T machined gear
  • 44/13 ring and pinion gear set
  • 92 mm universal driveshafts with 17 mm outdrives
  • Updated Soft Blend suspension arms for maximum durability in cold weather
  • New +1 aluminum steering block arms for sharper steering in low-grip conditions

RC8B4.1 Team Kit Legacy Features

  • The innovative new ball-joint front suspension geometry improves steering balance and provides predictable handling in all conditions.
  • The RC8B4 8-degree steering blocks are combined with a wider upper suspension arm pivot for greater stability and consistent steering throughout the entire steering range.
  • The RC8B4 gearboxes are made from the latest hard material also used on the RC8T4: 1) The front gearbox has a 3.5-degree angle for the pinion to straighten the center driveshaft, resulting in greater drivetrain efficiency and reduced phasing and vibration. 2) Both gearboxes have larger bearings; a 6x13x5mm flange bearing results in longer bearing, ring gear, and pinion gear life.
  • The latest version of the RC8B4 fuel tank with: 1) Flexible rubber lid puller. 2) Updated spring for a proper seal between the lid and tank.
  • The RC8B4 rear chassis brace has various design features and flexibility options: the rear brace is mounted centrally on the gearbox and has two screw points through the chassis for adjusting flex.
  • The RC8B4 front upper suspension arms are now made from soft material. Includes an optional molded “wing” insert for increased front-end downforce.
  • The RC8B4 front lower suspension arms are now made from soft material. 1) Updated design for increased durability. 2) The new angled, one-piece sway bar is mounted in line with the sway bar using a BHCS instead of a shock pin for simplified installation. 3) Optional inserts are mounted only on the top.
  • The RC8B4 rear wing mount features adjustable shims for the wing angle, significantly improved strength, an aerodynamic shape, and additional space for adjusting the shock position. Two wing-height options are available on the rear shock tower.
  • The RC8B4 rear wing has more vertical fins for greater straight-line stability, a higher rear lip for increased downforce, greater strength in various areas to reduce flex fatigue, and dimples on the rear as a template for cutouts.
  • The RC8B4 steering bellcranks feature a top-mounted steering rack for additional space around the gearbox.
  • The RC8B4 aluminum steering rack, designed around the updated front-end geometry, is lightweight and durable.
  • The RC8B4 bellcrank nuts are longer to reduce steering rack resistance during flex.
  • The RC8B4 steering servo link features a new, robust ball-and-steel threaded screw connection.
  • The blue aluminum suspension arm mounts of the RC8B4 A and B are shaped to fit into the chassis.
  • The RC8B4 front carbon-fiber top plate centers the front chassis brace for balanced flex in all directions.
  • The RC8B4 front chassis brace is the same length as the older short chassis version for ideal front-end flex.
  • The RC8B4 front body post is recessed into the front top plate, and its reversible design is easy to install.
  • The RC8B4 spring cups and shock absorber rod end have a retaining screw to keep the cups in place during a crash.
  • Steel spacers for the RC8B4 shock absorber.
  • Large-diameter, low-profile SHCS are used throughout the buggy to replace a traditional screw-and-washer system. They are used on the fuel tank, servo mounts, and rear body tube.
  • New exhaust mount and spring.
  • New carbon-fiber radio tray for a relocated steering servo.
93.5 mm front and 104 mm rear in the center, with 3x14 mm pins for greater drivetrain efficiency.
  • The two-piece rear body tube of the RC8B4 features a rubber grommet for some flexibility and a longer body life.
  • The RC8B4 rod ends feature improved threading, a slot for easy access with a turnbuckle wrench, and are made from the same durable material as our 1:10 rod ends.
  • Standard wheel hex sizes include "+0" mm front and rear.
  • Standard sway bar sizes include a 2.2 mm front bar and a 2.5 mm rear bar.
  • RC8B4 Mu (pronounced "mew") body with added RWB trim lines. Includes three different gearbox nose options: a traditional nose cone, a mid wing, and a high wing.
  • 44T ring and 13T pinion gears on the front and rear differentials.
  • RC8B3.2 battery and receiver box with removable transponder mount.
  • RC8B3.2 split center differential mounts with aluminum center plate.
  • 16 mm shocks equipped with white front springs (9.25 rate) and pink rear springs (12.0 rate), emulsion-style shock bladder, combined bleed/emulsion caps, and blue aluminum spring collars.
    RC8B3.2 narrow C- and D-arm mounts.
  • 4-shoe aluminum clutch with two composite and two aluminum shoes, two 0.95 mm and two 1.0 mm springs, and a steel 13T clutch bell.
