Motors

In general, 2 different types of motors are used: brushed and brushless.

  • Brushed motors are usually less powerful but can instantly alternate between driving forwards and backwards.
  • Brushless motors are more powerful and often better resistant to dust, but this comes together with a higher price.
There are a few things to keep in mind when deciding which engine you need. For both motorcycles you first choose an engine size, this is the number after the brand name in the title (e.g. Injora 540 13T-80T Brushed Motor 1/10 of Ignore 3650 3600-5200KV Brushless Motor). The higher this number, the more powerful the motor. Be sure to check the dimensions in the description to know that this engine fits.
  • Brushed motorbikes have turns, this is indicated in the titles (eg 20T). The higher the turns, the slower the motor and the higher the torque. So if you're going for top speed, a lower turn rating is recommended.
  • Brushless motors have a KV rating, this is also indicated in the titles (eg 2000KV). This works about the same as the turns with a brushed motor, but reversed. The higher the KV the more top speed, the lower the KV the more torque. Higher KV motors often require a little more cooling.
