Motors
In general, 2 different types of motors are used: brushed and brushless.
- Brushed motors are usually less powerful but can instantly alternate between driving forwards and backwards.
- Brushless motors are more powerful and often better resistant to dust, but this comes together with a higher price.
- Brushed motorbikes have turns, this is indicated in the titles (eg 20T). The higher the turns, the slower the motor and the higher the torque. So if you're going for top speed, a lower turn rating is recommended.
- Brushless motors have a KV rating, this is also indicated in the titles (eg 2000KV). This works about the same as the turns with a brushed motor, but reversed. The higher the KV the more top speed, the lower the KV the more torque. Higher KV motors often require a little more cooling.
