Overview

When JConcepts hits the track with new items, you can feel it. The new Pioneer wheels for the vintage 2WD buggy class, first shown at the Florida Carpet Championships, bring a retro-inspired look with the signature JConcepts style. Inspired by a replica of Masami Hirosaka from 1989, Jason Ruona dreamed of recreating an iconic variant. The extendable panels of the Pioneer wheels provide a fresh aesthetic while maintaining the correct offset and mounting properties.

Outer ribs fall between the sectional panels, along with a radial ring around the wheel nut. The four screw location details replicate adapters from the golden age of RC. The Pioneer wheels combine show and go – perfect for racers looking for a unique look, high-end performance, and a variety of color options starting in 2025. JConcepts offers optional titanium screws in burnt blue (#5037-1) and stealth black (#5037-2), or racers can use their own M3 × 6 mm screws in steel, stainless steel, or aluminum.

In terms of dimensions, the wheels match the Mono wheels that won the IFMAR World Championship, with industry-standard offset, durable material with reinforcing ribs on the inside, and a sturdy inner bearing hub. Available in a pack of four in bright white, fluorescent yellow, retro pink, and stealth black.
