Overview

A key part of the JConcepts product line, the Punisher body design began its off-road career during the 2010 racing season. Over ten years, the design team, along with the drivers, pushed boundaries and reinvented the Punisher along the way. The P2 design arrived just in time for the 2017 IFMAR Worlds, where the team tested and confirmed performance features at the Xiamen, China track. Now the P2 is available for the latest car in the XRAY product line, the XB4 2024.

As track conditions evolved worldwide, the P2 began to gain popularity. In the hands of top drivers Spencer Rivkin (2019 IFMAR World Champion) and Dakotah Phend (three-time ROAR 2wd national champion), the JConcepts body developed a reputation as the design for off-road surfaces with both low and high grip. The versatility of the P2, offering grip when needed, dimensional accuracy at the right moment, and a tuning tool, along with front and rear wing options sold separately by JConcepts, remains a dominant 4WD buggy aero package.

The channeling of the P2 body concepts begins at the front with a forward-placed windshield that is deeply recessed with a vertical railing. The design continuation runs over the cockpit and digs deep into the rear section, where it returns to a double winglet placed just before the rear tires in the horizontal plane. The recognizable feature that debuted in 2010, the center fin, is present on the world championship-winning body design and runs over most of the full length, from the cabin to the rear shock absorbers.

The double windows of the P2 hint at the JConcepts heritage dating back to the original Illuzion body. The sides are heavily beveled, popularized by the original #gojconcepts bodies dating back to the early 2000s. A deflector shield at the windshield directs airflow at the front, in line with the geometry of the front shock absorber. This premium part is protected and fits the XRAY gear protector like a glove.

The championship-winning item includes two 6.5 inch Carpet | Turf | Dirt wings, now a standard race item worldwide. The body features all trim and window lines engraved on the body, including masks to quickly cover the inside of the windows with user-generated paint techniques. The P2 photo car is just an example of what is possible in custom paint and artwork (not included) worldwide. The photo of the body, painted by Kustom RC Graphics, shows the work East Coast Color routinely performs for JConcepts drivers.

The Performance body is supplied as clear polycarbonate with protective film and is available in standard and lightweight molded thicknesses. A popular and versatile JConcepts sticker sheet is included to decorate the new body to the customer's choice, while a simple instruction covers the basics for new or inexperienced painters. The winged bodies are carefully packed in Groveland, Florida, enjoyed and labeled by professionals for customers seeking a high-quality option.
