Description
Characteristics
  • LiteRadio 3 upgrades with BETAFPV self-developed custom LiteRadio system. Pilots can control the joystick calibration and firmware update directly on the radio transmitter, which is more convenient for the novice racer.
  • Equipped with a built-in 2000 mAh 1S battery, LiteRadio 3 can operate for up to 15 hours without an external module, providing excellent endurance.
  • Comes with a built-in charging module, LiteRadio 3 supports USB charging, which is more convenient to use. Meanwhile, it designs a Low-Power alert to indicate low battery. It indicates that the battery is low and needs to be charged when the blue light flashes slowly and the buzzer beeps continuously.
  • Newly designed with a nano bay, it supports the external TX module. Highly recommend BETAFPV ELRS Nano Module, which is compatible with LiteRadio 3 radio transmitter and makes CRSF protocol available.
  • LiteRadio 3 adopted the rubber layer, is ergonomic and shaped like a game controller. It fits comfortably in the hand and the non-slip texture on the handles ensures a firm grip.
  • It is the safest and fastest method to get started by using a model practice simulator for starters. LiteRadio 3 radio transmitter supports most simulators on the market with extensive configuration.

Externe TX-module

  • LiteRadio 3 reserves a rear nano-bay and supports an external module. BETAFPV ELRS Nano TX module, which has high refresh rate, ultra-low latency and long range, is highly recommended for LiteRadio 3.

Remark: The external modules must support the CRSF protocol when using other brands. When you are ready to install the external TBS nano module, the housing of the TBS nano module should be 64 * 42 * 25mm, which is the thicker of the retrofit housings.

Improvements on LiteRadio 3

  • Compared to LiteRadio 2 SE, LiteRadio 3 is equipped with a 2000mAh 1S battery, which provides excellent performance for up to 15 working hours without an external module. It reserves a rear nano bay and supports an external module for use with ELRS Nano TX module, which supports CRSF protocol. In addition, the LiteRadio 3 gimbal has recently been updated with a precision potentiometer and adjustable stick ends.

BETAFPV-configurator

  • BETAFPV Configurator is a utility designed to simplify updating, configuring and tuning the radio station.

Downloadadres: https://github.com/BETAFPV/BETAFPV_Configurator/releases

The function of the BETAFPV configurator is shown below.

  • Basic configuration of the radio controller, such as mode switch, enable/disable RF modules.
  • Full function of the ExpressLRS configuration, such as outpower, packet rate, etc.
  • Channel mixer for fixed-wing drones.
  • Firmware update.

How to switch the protocol
Remark: Internal protocol switching is only available for the Frsky version radio transmitter. ExpressLRS version can only switch to the external TX module.

To change protocols and TX module, here are the steps:

  • Turn off the radio transmitter;
  • Hold down the BIND button while turning the radio transmitter back on;
  • Thereafter, the flashing color and times of the LED change before the buzzer alarms sound, according to the tables above.

The Frsky version can support 4 different internal protocols, including Frsky D16 FCC, Frsky D16 LBT, Frsky D8 and Futaba S-FHSS. The protocol is indicated by the flashing times of the LED at power-up, before the buzzer sounds.

Frsky Version
LED-status Protocolversie
Red flash once Internal Frsky D16 FCC (ACCST 1.X version)
Red flash twice Internal Frsky D16 LBT (ACCST 1.X version)
Red flash three times Interne Frsky D8
Red flash four times Internet Futaba S-FHSS
Purple flash three times quickly Internal TX module off and external TX module active

LED-status Protocolversie
Red flash once Internal ELRS
Purple flash three times quickly Run Internal TX Module and run External TX Module

Remark: LiteRadio 3 Frsky version only works with D16 ACCST 1.X Frsky protocol. So if you use a Frsky receiver with D16 ACCST 2.X version or ACCESS version, the binding will fail.
