Overview
The DUMAS USCG 36500 (4SP1258) is a highly detailed 686 mm (27") 1:16 scale RC rescue boat kit, based on the historic U.S. Coast Guard CG 36500. This 36-foot rescue boat played an important role in coastal rescue operations in the 1940s and 1950s and became particularly well known for the spectacular rescue of 32 crew members from the tanker SS Pendleton in 1952. The kit features a traditional wooden plank-on-frame hull, laser-cut plywood frames and details, balsa wood planking, cast metal fittings, and various scale details. Suitable for experienced model builders, it can be completed as a detailed static model or equipped with an electric motor and RC system for operation on the water.
