Overview

The KAVAN GO Brushless Servo is a powerful 83 g digital standard servo with high speed, a titanium/hardened steel gear set, and a triple-bearing output shaft. The full-aluminum housing provides excellent heat dissipation under heavy loads, making it ideal as a swashplate servo for 500–800-class RC helicopters. Using the KAV20.0001 USB programming interface and dedicated PC software, various servo settings can be adjusted, including travel, direction of rotation, neutral position, overload protection, soft start, and fail-safe.

Features

  • Servo angle: Sets the maximum range of the servo's rotation angle. The standard range is approximately 120° within the normal RC signal pulse-width range (900~2100 µs); approximately 180° within the maximum signal pulse-width range (500~2500 µs).
  • Servo neutral: Sets the servo's neutral (center) position. For supported flybarless units, you can switch between 1520 and 760 µs (333 → 666 Hz) only using the GO servo USB programmer. For proper operation, the "Narrow Band" setting must be used. Recommended settings:
    • Damping factor: 26
    • Vbar: 500 Hz
  • Damping factor: Servo damping setting – adjusts the servo's characteristics when stationary.
  • PWM power: Adjusts the servo's output power. The higher the power, the higher the servo's speed and torque – and the higher the power consumption.
  • Sensitivity: Servo sensitivity (deadband) setting. The higher the sensitivity, the narrower the deadband – the servo moves only when the change in signal pulse width is greater than the deadband. A setting that is too high may cause servo oscillation in some applications. Range: Ultra high (approx. 1 µs deadband) – High (approx. 2 µs) – Medium (approx. 3 µs) – Low (approx. 4 µs)
  • Soft start: Turns the soft-start function on or off. When enabled, the servo moves slowly to the initial position corresponding to the servo signal when power is switched on.
  • Reverse: Reverses the servo's direction of movement.
  • Narrow band: FUTABA SR mode – to be used only with FUTABA radio channels operating in SR mode. Do not enable this option if you are using another setting on your FUTABA radio or using a different radio.
  • SANWA SSR: SANWA SSR mode – to be used only with SANWA radio channels operating in SSR mode. Do not enable this option if you are using another setting on your SANWA radio or using a different radio.
  • PPM loss protection (fail-safe): If the receiver's control signal is completely lost or cannot be decoded correctly (due to interference), the servo can select from three fail-safe modes:
    • Release: No fail-safe protection.
    • Hold position: Maintains the position corresponding to the last correctly received control signal.
    • Move to neutral position: The servo returns to the neutral position (1500 µs pulse width).
  • Overload protection: Turns the servo's overload protection on or off at three levels. Once the overload persists for the set time (in seconds), the servo's output power is reduced to the corresponding set level (% of maximum power).
  • Default: Restores the factory settings of the connected servo.
